David Kraft - Director

I am very concerned beach front property owner. I will continue to fight to retain our property rights for you the members of SOS.  David has lived on the beach in the Caseville, Sand Point area since 1964.  I have seen the highs and lows of the water cycle and how it affects our historical beaches. At no time in the past, since this most recent low water cycle have we had so many weeds on the shore line. Our historical weed free sandy beaches should remain that way.

David is Associate Broker of David L. Kraft Realty Co.LLC along with his wife Sherri of 26 years they have three children, Alissa (Matt Eisbrenner), Stephanie (Allan McLean), Matthew Kraft, Three grandsons, Shawn born 10/12/05, son of Alissa & Matt, Ethan born 03/26/05, Brody born 07/1/07 both are sons of Stephanie & Alan.

What a great life we have living on our Sandy Beach at Sand Point.

George Sarris - Director

George Sarris has been a long time resident of Traverse City and has owned and developed several hotels on Grand Traverse Bay since 1968.  He has owned and managed the North Shore Inn Condominium Hotel on East Bay since 1990.  He graduated from Northwestern Michigan College, and received a BA, MA and PhD (in Higher Education Administration) from the University of Michigan.  George was employed for several years as a college and university administrator, including positions at Henry Ford Community College and the University of Michigan, before moving back to Traverse City.  George and his wife, Dianne, are both active managing the North Shore Inn, and are also avid boaters in Lake Michigan and in the Boca Grande area in Florida.  As beachfront owners of both their business and home, they have attempted to conscientiously balance their strong beliefs of private property and riparian ownership rights with their respect for protection of the environment.  As they have gradually seen their property rights diminished and their ability to keep their traditional beaches clean and attractive, they view SOS as the single most effective organization to regain and protect these rights.
