BIOGRAPHY OF OFFICERS AND DIRECTORS
Chuck and his wife Maureen are lifelong residents of the Bay City area. Chuck attended St. James School and has two grown children, Keith and Kelly. Chuck also worked 32 years at General Motors and is a member of UAW Local 362. Chuck completed the UAW/GM Internal Consultant Curriculum. Chuck is currently retired from GM but does home repair for friends and relatives. Chuck spent 2 years in the US Army in field artillery with service in Viet Nam in 1970 and was awarded the bronze star for meritorious achievement. Chuck has been involved in his community for several years and was selected as Essexville Citizen of Year. Chuck enjoys fishing, visiting the UP, golf, woodworking and time with his family. Frank is a lifelong resident of Bay City. He and his wife, Joanne, first bought a cottage on Donahue Beach in 1980, tore that down in 1994, and built a home. He and Joanne are the parents of two adult sons. Frank graduated from Handy High School, attended Delta College, and graduated from Central Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science Degree. Frank is a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Vietnam in April 1968 to April 1969. He spent that time doing infantry type duties such as, walking point, squad leader, ambushes, and lastly, RTO for the company commander. He was awarded the Combat Infantry Badge (CIB) and was twice awarded the Bronze Star with V device for heroism in ground combat. In 1979, Frank and Joanne bought the franchise for the Seven Eleven store being built on Wilder Road and that is where he spends all his time. He was awarded the Seven Eleven President's award in 2000. Frank is a member of the Bay City Lions Club and a number of Veteran organizations. He enjoys boating, golf, and racquetball. Born and raised in Sanilac County. Attended Central Michigan University for three years and graduated from Michigan State University with a BA degree. Betty is married to George Pattullo and has two sons and a daughter and 7 grandchildren. After teaching school at Almont, Michigan, and ten years in Caro, Michigan went on to build , own, and operate Pattullo and Sons Sports Inc. in Caro, Mi. After a three year fight with Cancer, . Betty went on to work for Michigan State University as an Extension Educator in Tuscola County serving as Home Economist, Coordinator for the displaced Farmers Program, Developed the Recycling program, Co-creator of Tuscola 2001 Inc, was instrumental in saving the Octagon Barn., appointed as Director of the Tuscola County Planning Commission and assisted County Planning Commission with the completion of the Tuscola County General Development Plan. Betty served on the Tuscola County Economic Development Corp, for over 14 years and was Chairperson for two years. Past President of Caro Rotary and a member for over 16 years, Pattullos have owned a home on Sand Point, Caseville Mi. for over 30 years.
George Sarris - Director George Sarris has been a long time resident of Traverse City and has owned and developed several hotels on Grand Traverse Bay since 1968. He has owned and managed the North Shore Inn Condominium Hotel on East Bay since 1990. He graduated from Northwestern Michigan College, and received a BA, MA and PhD (in Higher Education Administration) from the University of Michigan. George was employed for several years as a college and university administrator, including positions at Henry Ford Community College and the University of Michigan, before moving back to Traverse City. George and his wife, Dianne, are both active managing the North Shore Inn, and are also avid boaters in Lake Michigan and in the Boca Grande area in Florida. As beachfront owners of both their business and home, they have attempted to conscientiously balance their strong beliefs of private property and riparian ownership rights with their respect for protection of the environment. As they have gradually seen their property rights diminished and their ability to keep their traditional beaches clean and attractive, they view SOS as the single most effective organization to regain and protect these rights. Christopher Pinter - Director Chris was born and raised in Flint, MI. He graduated from Flint Central High School in 1984. Chris completed his undergraduate and graduate studies in social work at the University of Michigan in 1991. He has worked with persons with mental illness and developmental disabilities for the last 20 years and is the director of managed care services for Bay-Arenac Behavioral Health in Bay City MI. Chris and his wife Janis moved to Bay City in 1995 and live on Brissette Beach. |
